The Dance - Garth Brooks
Written by: Tony Arata

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Ahh... this song is so sad sad sad. Especially the way garthbrooks sings it (nicevoice!) just in case anyone keeps regretting and stuff like that (namely me) and starts to think about the whatifs maybes and couldhavebeens, the bolded words are especially interesting. i don't know, sometimes i look back, sigh, go crazy, wish i had done something else; but then i pay so much attention to the bad things that the good things don't come into your mind.

enough nonsense. time for bed
